Solvent extraction of lithium ions using benzoyltrifluoroacetone in new solvents

چکیده

This work studies the solvent extraction of lithium ions from alkaline aqueous solutions by chelating agent 3-benzoyl-1,1,1-trifluoroacetone (HBTA). To develop a more eco-friendly system for than currently used, various hydrophobic room-temperature ionic liquids were investigated as diluents. The influence several experimental parameters on was examined, including phase pH, nature counter-ion, extractant concentration, addition electrically neutral co-extractant. It found that contrary to traditional systems with molecular diluents, HBTA alone dissolved in 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide liquid extracts efficiently solution. co-extractant, tri(n-octyl)phosphine oxide (TOPO) did not result synergetic effect. confirm mechanism (IL), measurements IL constituent and deprotonated concentrations equilibrium carried out. Analysis results suggests an lithium-HBTA complex is extracted into phase. combining 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium has high selectivity over sodium but poor calcium. We have shown also stripping ratio can be obtained using relatively concentrated hydrochloric acid. Finally, it use some deep eutectic solvents diluents much less efficient compared ILs.

Organic compounds (2-naphthol, phenol, 4-chlorophenol, 4-nitrophenol, and 1,3,5-naphthalenetrisulfonic acid) were sufficiently separated from mixtures during flow in a fused silica capillary tube (50 microm in i.d. and 45 cm in length) with an aqueous mixed solvent of an ionic liquid, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride (BMIM(+)Cl(-)), without a specific separation column. The method is based ...

Nanoporous block copolymer films using highly selective solvents and non-solvent extraction.

Nanoporous block copolymer thin films are fabricated by selective solvent swelling of the majority phase and subsequent rapid extraction with a miscible non-solvent (water). Selection of the initial solvent provides a facile route to tune the porosity of the films. Poly(butylnorbornene)-block-poly(hydroxyhexafluoroisopropyl norbornene) (BuHFA) is used to generate these porous thin films due to ...

Oxime extractants 3-tert-butyl-2-hydroxy-5-methyl benzaldehyde oxime (HL1) and 3-tert-butyl-2-hydroxy-5-methoxy benzaldehyde oxime (HL2) were synthesized and characterized by conventional spectroscopic methods. Suitable lipophilic nature of the prepared extractants allowed examining the ability of these molecules for extr...
